Over the month of August Move Improve was fortunate to meet up with James and attend his Pilates sessions whilst working at the Edinburgh Tattoo.
With great planning and delivery every class was incremental, building on previous achievements, challenging and developing all those attending.
With a fantastic wealth of knowledge, James has the ability to adapt his approach to suit all his students.

It’s my first experience of Pilates and as a 52 year old man I was a bit sceptical.
James delivers well structured and supportive sessions for all abilities within the group.
After 6 weeks my posture is improving and it’s a serious core muscle workout.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the amazing pilates session at polhawn fort on my wedding morning last Thursday. It really helped me stay calm and focused on the morning and everyone enjoyed the session so much. It was the perfect balance of exercises and I could tell James had really thought hard to plan the session to make it special for the day. Would recommend to any bride or groom staying at the fort!! I finished James’s 6 week pilates introduction course last Monday, and I thought it was fantastic! He was very welcoming, and the class was very enjoyable. It was different every week, so kept us all interested and when we did go back to any exercise, I definitely saw an improvement! James gave everyone in the class personal attention, and corrected any postures that weren’t quite right. The progression through the 6 weeks was just right; it was certainly challenging, but all my goals were met, and I feel more flexible and have had no back pain at all! I am looking forward to the next 8 week course in March, and would urge anyone, male and female, to go along!
